Honours Thesis Exhibition

Rooms As Tombs

This montage series titled Rooms as Tombs was created by photographing and editing photos I took and manipulated in Adobe Photoshop.

The series was created during my Honours Degree to raise awareness of how art can be useful in healing human inflictions.

The series has exhibited at Deakin University Arts Centre, Melbourne VIC and Shoalhaven City Arts Centre, Nowra NSW. I was awarded a lifetime membership to the Golden Key International Society  for outstanding achievement during it’s completing for an honours degree at Deakin University.

Other Art

Some of the commissions I have had over the past 5 years.

Of The Hand

The exhibition explores the effects of the hand (particularly at war). I’m hoping it will raise awareness of the effects of war on veterans.

The collection consists of 14 detailed graphite drawings – some complimented by watercolour accents.

All images have been framed by my veteran husband who constructed them using locally sourced and repurposed woods including maple, pine and American redwood.

There is also one large surprise piece to compliment the collection – not something you’d expect to see at an art exhibition!

The Of The Hand exhibition will run over a couple of months, thanks to the generosity of the Fleet Air Arm Museum.

I hope you can join in on celebrating a semi “coming out” of my art closet, by visiting ‘Of The Hand’ and more importantly, help to raise awareness of the effects of war on our veterans.

*Opening is via invitation only due to current government restrictions.
